Family Room Job Description
To assist in the day-to-day operation of the Family Room by providing comfort and support to the families and children who visit and to help maintain the sustainability of the room.
Volunteering in the Family Room means interacting with a wide variety of people, as well as being responsible, flexible and taking initiative. Volunteers are expected to demonstrate concern for families by being good listeners yet refrain from entering into a counseling role.
Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Register families on a daily basis
- Provide families with an orientation of the Family Room
- Provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for guests
- Answer telephone and family enquiries
- Keep the Family Room neat and tidy
Qualifications
Minimum of 18 years of age
Willingness to work with children and families
Fun, enthusiastic & creative personality
Good listening skills
Maturity & confidentiality
