Hamilton’s Ronald McDonald House offers safe and economical accommodation to the families of critically ill children who are receiving care at our local Children's Hospital.
We are located just steps away from Hamilton’s McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Our house offers everything from fresh baked goods to laundry supplies – making it possible for families to focus on their number one priority – their sick child.
Located steps away from McMaster's Children's Hospital this 15 bedroom House opened in April 1993.
Our ‘home away from’ house offers everything from fresh baked goods to laundry supplies. We strive to provide all of the comforts of home giving our families the opportunity to focus on their number one priority – their sick child.
Services offered to families include:
- Free long distance offered by Vonage
- Home for Dinner program which offers home-cooked meals several nights per week
- Free parking
Our facilities include:
- 15 spacious private bedrooms, each with a four piece bath, a telephone for local calls, a TV and DVD player
- children's playroom, lounge, living room and games room
- large kitchen which includes three large work centres and personal food storage for each family
- Laundry facilities (including detergent)
- Playpens, cribs, strollers, highchairs, car seats, cots and extra linen for family use
Grocery stores, pharmacy, ATM, gas stations and several restaurants all within walking distance.
We also offer our “Take a Break” program for families of ill children who are not staying at Ronald McDonald House but could benefit from our facilities. Take a hot shower, have a nap, prepare a nutritious meal, or do some laundry. Simply call the House Manager to make arrangements.

Directions
From West
Take 403 Eastbound towards Hamilton.
Exit at Aberdeen Avenue and go straight on Aberdeen to Longwood Rd. South.
Turn left onto Longwood.
Turn left onto Main St. West (stay in centre lane to avoid exiting lanes).
Ronald McDonald House is located at 1510 Main St. West. The House is on the right side of the street just past the hospital and Cootes Drive. It is across the street from Esso gas station.
From East
Take 403 Westbound towards Hamilton. Exit at Hwy 8 West (Main St. W.) and make a left at the lights at the top of the off ramp (stay in centre lane to avoid exiting lanes).
Ronald McDonald House is located at 1510 Main St. West. The house is on the right side of the street just past the hospital and Cootes Drive. It is across the street from the Esso gas station.
