Priority will be given to families with the most seriously-ill children, in the following order of priority, from the farthest distance away:

Priority 1

  • NICU (neo-natal intensive care)
  • PCCU (intensive care)
  • Oncology inpatients

Priority 2

  • children admitted to paediatric ward
  • Oncology outpatients in active treatment

Priority 3

  • Out patients (testing, assessments and therapy)

When there is more than one Priority 1 family, the following factors are taken into consideration: Health of the child, distance from home, length of stay and family circumstances.
