Priority System
Priority will be given to families with the most seriously-ill children, in the following order of priority, from the farthest distance away:
Priority 1
- NICU (neo-natal intensive care)
- PCCU (intensive care)
- Oncology inpatients
Priority 2
- children admitted to paediatric ward
- Oncology outpatients in active treatment
Priority 3
- level II nursery
- Oncology patients (assessments, testing and post treatment follow-up visits)
- High risk pregnancy mothers
- Out patients (testing, assessments and therapy)
When there is more than one Priority 1 family, the following factors are taken into consideration: Health of the child, distance from home, length of stay and family circumstances.
